What's good? It's the Smith's--Bahiyyih, Shiraz, Badi, Narmin and Derik--in the Middle East! We are holding it down in Dubai, missing everyone on the other side of the world. This blog is a great idea: Thanks Jason; thanks Steve. The pictures are wonderful--the kids (and the adults) are beautiful. I know we have been somewhat incommunicado of late, but we are thinking about you all. If any of you are Facebooking, Narmin is on there and she is pretty dilligent about posting photos, etc. Hook up with her. I hope we can keep this blog in action. Love to all Smiths. Derik

Hey Everybody - There is Always Something to Celebrate! I myself have not always had joy in my spirit but joy is truly beginning to come around. Steven Smith Hello Steve and Everybody, First, I want to thank you Steve for working so hard to pull us together on the internet. We have family all over the world and it is high time we got together. "Joy gives us wings!" I am delighted to hear that joy is now the wind under your wings. Magda and I are well. St. John remains beautiful and we would love to have visits from family. I will upload some photos of Derik, Narmin and kids. They are still in Dubai, however, plan to return to the states next year. Derik has signed a contract with the University of Central Florida, where he will join the faculty of the English Department. That's all for now, Love and prayers, Alan and Magda

I hope everyone had a good summer. I do not know all that had taken place but I do know that the Smith Family had a wedding, a new child was added and traveling had taken place to different parts of the world by some of our family members. I believe that there are many more great things that had taken place in the lives of the Smith's. Well since this summer will soon be behind us, I think that we should visit the issue of having a family reunion once again. I do not know if I heard correctly or not but I think the Ross reunion may be held next year down south. Is this true? let's communicate.

Greetings Everyone, I hope most can navigate through our new system of communication. I personally think that it can be a nice system if we all agree to use it. And it is a way to communicate to everyone at one time. What is the opinion of everyone for having a family reunion the summer of 2008? Nice to get a visual of a new family member, Shanon.

Owyn meets Shannon

Jason and Shannon flew out to Indiana in May so Shannon could meet Owyn. Needless to say, she was well received! Now Owyn talks about his Shannon ("Owyn's Shannon") all the time and draws her pictures and pretends to talk to her on his toy phone, etc. We all had a great visit, and both Malcolm's Mom and Dad came into to town as well. Here are a few pictures. More later, LuAnn Owyn enjoyed jumping over Shannon in the yard. Jason shared his sandals. Owyn and Shannon making funny noises and faces on the porch.

On Saturday May 5th I asked my girlfriend of 3 1/2 years to marry me. We have been living together in Breckenridge Colorado for a long time now. We get along great and we both love adventure and the mountains. Wish us luck and happiness! I hope everyone will get to meet Shannon, sooner rather than later. Then today I realized that almost no one has had a chance to meet her and get to know her. So, I have included some pictures. Hello and welcome the "Smith Site"

I sent out an email a while ago to annouce the birth of a site for the whole Smith Family clan to keep in touch with each other. A close friend of mine set this up at almost no charge and everyone can access it. I will send out an email this week with the passwords. (Don't worry) This entry is just an example. The creator of the site will also include some tutorial information. Just give us a week or so and then everything will be ready to go. Please be patient and enjoy this short movie from the last winter.
